NAME
snmpd - cmu's snmp agent
SYNOPSIS
snmpd [-v] [-a]
DESCRIPTION
Snmpd should be run as a daemon in background. It is serving to your
pleasure and answering snmp V1 and V2 requests.
Upon startup /etc/snmpd.conf is read (if it exists).
Successful set-requests of system.sysName, system.sysLocation and
system.sysContact are stored in
snmpd.conf(5),
if this files exists.
The daemon answers all V1 requests with the ``public'' communty
string, except for host.hrSWRun* requests, for security reasons.
OPTIONS
- -v
-
Be verbose upon startup.
- -a
-
The sender of received packets are stores and looged via this option;
I am afraid, you have to look at the source for more about.
ENVORONMENT
MIBFILE - complete filename of mib.txt (or copy to /etc/mib.txt).
FILES
/etc/snmpd.conf, /etc/party.conf, /etc/view.conf, /etc/context.conf,
/etc/acl.conf - configuration files
If these files are unedited from installation, simple SNMP-V1 is provided.
SEE ALSO
snmp.conf(5), variables(5)
BUGS
Setting routing entries does not work (the cmu-code hits you hard).
